This is a response to the prompt: What does the Local Guides program mean to you?
Throughout these hard “social distancing” times, I really got to think about how important the freedom we have is and how sometimes it goes unnoticed.
During busy days with the rush of our modern life, you hardly ever have the time to just stop and think of the beauty of a frozen moment on the wild: the ephemeral foam on a hot chocolate, the delicate way sunlight crosses through that restaurant’s window, the meticulous way every item is placed on an antique shop; the ability to go outside and take a breath before freezing those moments in time forever and before sharing them to the world through the Local Guides program.
I can’t wait to be out there once again, I will come back even stronger with a renewed vision and with the firm determination of sharing new experiences and knowledge with those can enjoy their liberty outside and live the Local Guides experience, but also with those who have to do it from the distance.
So, in the end, I realized that along with the program there lies the purest sense of free expression, to share, to live, to enjoy our interconnected community in a fun and collaborative environment, where at the pinnacle of it all, for me, everything is summarized in one word: freedom.
