Yes, “Whale Tail” is the name given to this extraordinarily beautiful eponymous artwork at the foreshore of Esperance in Western Australia. Esperance is 700 kilometres from the state capital Perth, and the drive was long but fun. The Esperance foreshore has undergone a multi-million dollar re-design a few years ago and it just feels like every inch-square of the project is designed to attract.
I walked on the foreshore, taking in the Indian Ocean views and then without warning, this mesmerising Whale Tail artwork appears to be both coming out of the ground and diving into the ocean at the same time.
