In fact it is a crossing of the natural river Weser and the artificial watercourse Mittelllandkanal. The watercourse is over 300 km and do make it possible to go by boat and other rivers from Czech/Poland to France/Swiss via Germany without using the sea…
That is interesting! I seen a purposely built canal to connect rivers before now. This is the first time of seeing a water bridge built over a river. It is amazing! It is a place I would like to visit and see how it is built.
This is really a very special place, as it matches something natural with something artificial in a special way.
In fact, I did wrote much more in the post, but somehow there was a mistake in saving. When I will find more time this week, I will add something more.
Yesterday I didn’t saw the load/ Container ships on the bridge. In fact I don’t know why. Maybe I will go there again, because if a big container ship comes over the bridge, it must be totally amazing.
Really it is totally amazing. I’m really thought that I never can be fascinated because of any construction in this way. It seams to be such a easy solution in the first moment, but when thinking about this more and more it is amazing.
When you go on the GoogMap above, you can see how much is related to this, but when you change to Satellite, you will see how good it is integrated into the landscape. Only think about how many container ships can go via this and how much traffic it takes from the streets and railway…
Yeah, you are absolutely right. It would help the economic a lot as well. We should take examples of such constructions. They would be very useful for each country.
