Hello everyone!!!
This is my first post and here I am going to tell you all about my recent (and also my first) visit to Sillery Gaon.
So, it all started on the night of 27th February, 2020 when I along with my classmates and seniors started our journey to Sillery Gaon, by the legendary Darjeeling Mail.
We boarded the train at 20:00 hrs from Sealdah Junction and went all the way till New Jalpaiguri Railway Station.
Then, our journey started in a vehicle…8 of us in one vehicle.
Finally, a little before reaching the place, we saw the world’s third-highest mountain, the majestic Kanchenjunga…?
After a few minutes, we finally reached our destination for that day, Sillery Gaon. We went to the hotel named Golden Apple Homestay. Special mentions here include the rooms we got to spend the night. Well, they’re nice and what’s more, you open the windows, and see a beautiful scenery around…
We rested, became fresh and gathered for the lunch for the day…and whoa, it was already a bit chilly, at about 2:30pm. Then we went back to our respective rooms, rested for a while, then took our cameras, and went out for the View Point. Gosh, it was a really long walk down the somewhat difficult track.
Three of us (along with me), got separated from the group, and we went on our merry ways, realising after sometime, that we were lost. But then as we were preparing to return, we found out that, the others were coming, meaning, we were right and they had lost the road in fact??..
After reaching the top of the view-point…we were awestruck by the beautiful view from there
These views gave me an in-depth knowledge about how beautiful nature could be…
On returning to our hotel, we had a tiffin break, then went to our respective rooms, had some singing songs, playing games, gossiping. Had dinner after that and retired to bed for the next morning…
We woke up well before sunrise the next morning and that only thing that I felt was, how chilly the surroundings were(my phone almost felt like an ice cube)…?.
We dressed up and got ready, hurriedly and went right to the terrace of our hotel, to see these:
We came down and finally, it was time to depart from this wonderful place…
Will cherish this beautiful memory from this place lifelong…
