A trip to the Andaman Islands..!!

While the Andaman and Nicobar islands are a part of India, most of the part of these islands are raw and untouched.

I have been to the Andaman islands recently and I can bet, the beautiful landscape and the sweetheart people will leave you awestruck.

Not many people know about all the islands in this group and the only visited places within these islands are ‘Port Blair’, ‘Havelock island’ and ‘Neil island’.

These islands are surrounded by deep blue water from all sides and have a picturesque scenery.

The best places to visit in Port Blair are ‘The Central Jail (or the Kalapaani)’, ‘Ross island’ and ‘Naval Marine museum’.

I suggest to not miss the light and sound show at the Central Jail as it gives shivers down the spine when you witness the history of these islands and the punishments through which the Indian Independence fighters went through years ago.

The Naval Marine museum displays and explains the flora, fauna and the various tribes (Jarawa, Great Andamanese, Onge, Sentinelese, Nicobarese and Shompens) at the Andaman and Nicobar islands. It is a great sight to visit and gives you knowledge of culture and diversity of these islands.

The Ross island is one of the best place to attain inner peace, spend some quality time with yourself and have a view of the most beautiful sunset one can imagine.

While visiting the Havelock islands, the places which should be definitely visited are RadhaNagar beach, Elephant beach and the Kalapatthar Beach. Each beach of this island is different from the other one.

The RadhaNagar beach is a white sand beach and the water at this beach is crystal blue. The beach also has a number of coconut trees. One cannot ask for anything better than a combination of the white sand, crystal blue water and the coconut trees. It just feels complete!!

The Elephant beach can be reached by a boat or a trek from the main island. This beach is famous for the water sports and activities.

Snorkelling, Scuba diving and Sea walk are the preferred attractions of this island. The water is so clear and crystal blue that the life below the water can be easily seen. The colorful corals and hundreds of varieties of fishes are just mesmerizing to witness.

One just falls in love with the place because you can feel the nature so close to you.

The Kalapatthar beach as the name suggests has black rocks submerged within the water. These rocks between the white sand and the deep blue water are just perfect to spend the day. People from foreign lands prefer this beach as it is the least crowded. The back waters from this beach is also a breeding place for the crocodiles.

In the Neil island, the best places to visit are Bharatpur beach which is a site for coral reefs and fishes, Laxmanpur beach is best known for its sunset views and Rose island which is a turtle sanctuary.

These 3 islands are connected by ‘MAK’ cruise which travels at fixed time each day.

If you are a beach person, you would never want to return because even while travelling from one place to the other, we can see the lush green coconuts trees or the blue water.

Apart from the scenery, the people here are always smiling and ready to help. We just need to understand that they are very particular about the decided time and schedule.

Do enjoy the seafood and coconut water when you visit this place.

Have a great stay at these islands…
