Hi My name is Amit Partap, I am an entrepreneur & own an IT company in Chandigarh (Digifame Media)
This post is regarding my trip to Thailand with one of my Friend, I will write complete details regarding everything you need to know before you plan a trip to Thailand.
Things you require Before Entering to Thailand :
1. Air tickets
Yes, this is quite obvious the first thing we need is air tickets but here I will tell you the cheapest flights you can Book to travel from Delhi to Bangkok, use any app to book flights but look for NokSccot flights they provide the cheapest flight from Delhi to DMK (Don Muong Airport), yes you heard it right Don Muong Airport not Swarnbhumi Airport as the cheap carriers only fly from Delhi to Don Muong this flight will cost you between 8k to 13k Return Flight depending upon the time period you travel, From Delhi its a midnight flight 01:40 PM so be careful.
2. Hotel Booking
Hotel Booking is a must before entering Thailand as you have to fill details in your visa on arrival form, you can book hotels that provide free cancelation so that you can first check the hotel without fear of losing money.
There are lots of options you can choose from, for a luxury family trip you can choose 5 Star hotel, and if you are a true traveler and want to explore new places in a cheaper way you can book hostels, Even cheaper hostel there in Thailand are clean and well maintained, you can book hostels in just low as Rs.200 Per Night, this is the base price and you can spend much if your pocket and budget alow to do that.
3. Mobile Sim
Yes, you can book your Travel sim from India only, via klook.com, you just have to pay Rs.350. for unlimited data for a week, you can take this sim from Klook Counter which is present on both airports DMK as well as Swaranbhumi.
4. Thai Currency
According to the rules, you must have 20,000 Bhat equal currency cash before applying for visa on arrival, but you can show credit cards or debit cards if they demand it, in most of the cases they don’t ask to show money but still you have to be little conscious, you can change you Indian money to Bhat with the help of a local agent, or even you can withdraw money directly from your international atm if you have one, it will cost you 220 Bhat extra for a one-time transaction, so better to plan your spendings and withdraw the good amount at once so that you need not pay extra charges again and again.
5. Visa on Arrival
Yes, as you all no Thailand provides you with VISA on arrival facility most of the time in a year Thailand offers free Visa for Indians if you are not lucky enough you need not worry, you just have to pay 1000 Bhat, for Visa on arrival.
You need Hotel Booking, Your Passport, Visa on arrival form , Arrival form which you will get in flight and the currency to show if they ask for it. The trick is download visa on arrival form from this link https://www.immigration.go.th/download/1486544488315.pdf take 2 to 3 prints, fill the form prior and run directly to visa on arrival counter do not do anything after landing otherwise you have to stand in a long queue and you will end up wasting a lot of time. Arrival form will be provided by Airlines fill the form they will return you the smaller part of the form keep this part safe with you, you have to show this while coming back to India, again it will save your time else you will stand in the queue for long and they will send you back to fill the departure form so it’s better to keep it safe.
So this was the list of all things you will require before visiting Thailand
