I’ve always been inspired by Scandinavia. For me it is the land of spirituality and mysteries; when I was a kid I’ve read a plenty of books about viking sagas, norse mythology and culture. I’ve truly been enchanted by this wonderful land and I’ve planned my first travel abroad to Denmark. Why I chose Denmark, Copenhagen? Because it was a home for my favorite writers and composers such as Hans Christian Andersen and Edward Grieg. Also I believe Denmark is a cultural heart of Scandinavia so I decided to explore museums and monuments at this time.
After landing on Kastrup airport of Copenhagen and meeting up with my friends we went to a most famous Denmark’s monument - Little Mermaid or Den Lille Havfrue on Danish.
If you head south you can see St. Alban’s Church and Gefion’s fountain.
The fountain itself depicts the mythical story of the creation of the island of Zealand on which Copenhagen is located. Also we found some cool stuff near that place.
Then you might want to see royal palace which is located near. Amalienborg is the place where danish kings has born.
Then we headed our journey to Nyhavn. Along its northern, sunnier side, Nyhavn is lined with bars, restaurants and souvenirshops facing the harbor. Nyhavn serves as a hub of canal tours.
As you might know, Copenhagen is world famous for its biking culture and now officially the first Bike City in the World so probably you will need a bike to travel faster and explore the city more effectively.
Here is a little tips when visiting Copenhagen:
-
Rent a bicycle as soon as possible.
-
Download city guide to a smartphone and have your powerbank ready.
