One of the things I enjoy most about being a local guide is discovering local places and sharing experiences that may be useful to other travellers and our community.
Traditional Khmer dishes are one of Cambodia’s signatures. I grew up eating and enjoying these foods, and they remain some of my favourite local flavours. They are not only delicious to me but also connected to my childhood, culture and everyday life.
As you can see in the photos I’m sharing, two of the popular dishes I enjoyed here are ប្រហុកដុតជ្រុញ (Prahok Ang)—grilled fermented fish served with vegetables—and ទឹកគ្រឿង (Tik Kroeung), a traditional Khmer dipping sauce.
These are two dishes that are quite easy to find at Khmer restaurants across Cambodia, especially in popular tourism areas. For visitors who want to experience local Cambodian flavours, trying traditional dishes like these can be a simple and enjoyable way to connect with our food culture.
Recently, I had the chance to enjoy a variety of traditional Khmer dishes at ភោជនីយដ្ឋាន មុទិតា (Mudita Restaurant), and I really loved the taste. Each dish reminded me of the richness and diversity of Cambodian cuisine.
For me, Khmer food is more than just a meal. It is part of our culture, our memories and our everyday life. Sharing these local flavours with visitors is also a way to introduce them to another side of Cambodia beyond the well-known tourist attractions.
A Convenient Stop for Travellers
What makes this restaurant especially convenient is its location. It is not far from Cambodia’s new international airport (Techo International Airport), so it could be a good option for travellers who want to enjoy Khmer food while exploring the area.
Another thing I appreciated is the large amount of free parking space. For people travelling by car, especially families and groups, convenient parking can make the dining experience much easier.
I always enjoy discovering places where food, culture and local experiences come together. As local guides, we have the opportunity to help others discover these places—not only the famous attractions, but also the everyday local experiences that make Cambodia special.
