A street had its traffic direction inverted. Keep reporting it, but it never gets fixed.

I reported this multiple times, eventually got the email that it was fixed each time, yet each time it wasn’t fixed. This is getting annoying, as it makes directions completely incorrect. There’s no direct alternative such as just taking the next street, it requires quite a detour to get around.

I also believe the reporting options are unclear. The only applicable one seems to be “One-way/Two-way is incorrect”, but that sounds like it’s for one-way streets that become two-way and vice versa. There needs to be a report for wrong/updated traffic direction.

Hi @PLPeeters ,

Thanks for reaching out and for trying to update Google Maps in your area!

To report the wrong information on Google Maps, please follow these steps:

  • Open Google Maps. Make sure you’re signed in.

  • In the top left, click Menu (the three stripes icon) → Send feedback → Wrong information

  • Follow the instructions.

  • Click Submit

Here you will find the Steps to report wrong directions on Google Maps and the instructions how to Report an error on the map.

I hope these details will help you. If you don’t mind, I’ll move your post to the How-tos section where it fits better.

Hi @KatyaL ,

It appears you read through my message rather quickly, as I mentioned already doing exactly what you suggested twice. Both times, I got an email saying it was published, yet the street is still in the wrong direction…

I just reported it again, but I don’t see why it would be handled any different this time around. I tried reporting using wrong directions, but the problem here is that it’s only part of the street that had traffic inverted, so the instruction I would be reporting as “Can’t turn because the road is one-way in the opposite direction” would be technically wrong, as it’s only further up that I wouldn’t be able to continue (see screenshot: I would be reporting the whole red part, while the relevant part is the green one).

Hi @PLPeeters ,

We fully understand your concerns, but what you already did - sending feedback over the Google Maps application is the right way to go.

By the way if you feel you have an Idea on how Google Maps, Local Guides or Connect can be improved, you can definitely suggest this as an Idea in the Idea Exchange section of Connect. We monitor the Idea Exchange daily and if your Idea gets a lot of votes it has a huge chance to be implemented.

Hi @GeorgesHR ,

I know the steps I took are the correct ones, my issue is with what happens to the report afterwards, which is the direction of traffic for this street not getting fixed. The direction of traffic has been reversed a month or two ago and Google Maps still hasn’t been updated with this change, which leads to terrible directions in the area…

Hi @PLPeeters ,

Thanks for the clarification. I can definitely push this on our side here, but its going to be faster if you report this directly on the Google Maps forum as well.

Any chance you send us the link to this street?

Hi @GeorgesHR ,

I didn’t see your request for a link, hence the late reply. Here’s the link: https://goo.gl/maps/JJBahodqxh22 (it’s only the portion with the pin).

My edit got published again, but it proved once more that reviewers don’t seem to bother reading comments, as it’s now marked as being two-way when my comment clearly indicated it was one-way from Chaussée Saint-Pierre to Place Van Meyel. I just resubmitted an edit with this exact comment.
