A state beyond what everyone things it is.

The main reason I post on Google Maps is I want to share all the good things we have in the state of Sinaloa Mexico, for the people who lives in and outside the state, also wherever I go I try to post my impressions of the places I visit so other people can know if it’s a good (Good service, fun, cheap), or bad (Too expensive, too crowd, etc), I try to be as pragmatic as I can but you know, we have a say “Each one tells the story depending on how it was their moment”.

Now normally I post about restaurants and food because are the places I mostly visit, but this time I am going to focus on the places we have in the region, it’s sad that wherever I go everyone asks me about how dangerous is living here. For instance, some years a ago I was doing a study trip in Spain and after a conference we were talking about ourselves, where we were from, etc. then when I say I am from Sinaloa, México, everyone starts asking me things like “How dangerous is there?”, “Why do you keep living there?”, one person even asked me “Do you live like in a country at war?”. All this bad fame has made that no one want to come here, but we have more good things that bad ones.

Culiacán (The capital) and Sinaloa in general has a lot of fun things to do, places to go, we have a lot of diversity in ecosystems and magical towns and food here is the best in the world! I want to give you a mini tour on all the great things we have and would like to share with you. As I said before, in this post I am going to focus on the places, we will let the delicious food for another post.

Sinaloa’s west is the Pacific Ocean, it’s so close that you can go to the beach anytime you want, also, did I mention they have the most beautiful sunsets?

If you are looking for more coziness, we also have forest with cabins or hotels in the middle of nowhere, so you can rejoin with nature. In this particular place called “Guacamayas”, all the cabins join in the night to tell stories, sing and eat smoked marshmallows around a fire, also if you are brave enough you can try the zipline.

If you are more of a person who likes romantic colonial towns, we have some of the best in the country, this is a Gym in Cosalá, one of the most beautiful towns here ?.

The capital, Culiacán, is crossed by two rivers that connect right in the center of the city and create a new one, isn’t that amazing? This is the point where the new river is created.

Also, did you know we have a botanical garden which is considered one of the best in the whole world? This is my favorite spot in it, you can sit on the benches and refresh your feet while viewing, listening and feeling the nature ?.

Of course, as we are the first state in the country which produces vegetables, meat and dairy, you can see farms here, a lot of orchards, cows, horses, etc. And one reason why food is so good here is because the freshness of the products, if you eat a vegetable your are sure it was harvested today’s morning.

To finish, did you know we also have the second highest natural lighthouse in the world? It is in Mazatlan city, like two hours from the capital, here a picture with my wife.

I would like to tell you a lot more, I am going to be doing it in some future posts, but for now I want to tell that the best part of my state is its people.

Thanks for reading me.
