Piazza Unità d’Italia in Trieste (Italy) can be considered the largest square that exists near the sea (12.280 sm).
In the photo you can see the City Hall: the square is immediately below.
It’s a beautiful photo of a beautiful part of Italy @Filippo_Monti . Thank you for sharing it with us.
Hi @Filippo_Monti ,
Thank you for sharing this place with us. Could you share more information about the square and the City Hall? What you liked the most about them? Keep in mind that adding detailed information to your posts make them more attractive to other Local Guides.
I recommend you to check this link How to take photos of monuments and historical sites to find out more tips about photography.
@GNaz is the city where I live since 2014. It’s an ancient Roman city and it’s architecture is based on Austria domination. I love all of this city, mostly the possibility to not use the car to move around the city.
Thank you for your response @Filippo_Monti . Do you like to ride a bike or you prefer to walk?
@GNaz I prefer to walk otherwise I could not take picture: it’s my passion.
@Filippo_Monti I also prefer to walk everywhere, for instance, when I visit a city I don’t use any transport. In my opinion, you can see and explore many hidden places this way and enjoy being “local”.
@GNaz It depends on the city. In december I was in Berlin: you need an year (maybe) to look at the whole city by foot :D.
I use a mix of public transportation and walk. When I’m going on holiday I prepare a plan based on visit days to optimize the time
Google Maps it’s fundamental for me to search the places to visit, put flags, make trips, etc.
For example this is piece of plan of my visit in London.
Day | Morning activities | Afternoon activities | NOTE | |
---|---|---|---|---|
01-ago | M | flight to Londom | 41 Clanricarde Gardens W2 4JN | Stansted express, Liverpool street, Notthing Hill Gate/ Queensway Station |
02-ago | M | Kensington Palace | Victoria and Albert Museum | https://tickets.royalcollection.org.uk/ |
03-ago | G | London Tower e Tower Bridge | Globe Teatre (Shakespeare) | Visite ogni mezz’ora |
@Filippo_Monti It depends on the city. For example, when I visited Barcelona we would be able to see it by foot, only we need transport for the far places such as botanical gardens or parks. Your plan looks awesome! I will keep in mind for my future travel plans. Thank you for sharing!
@GNaz yes, absolutely, it depends on the city. The plan is only a small part, I do this for every place i visit. I’m a programmer so I program my trips.
That’s great @Filippo_Monti ! There are also applications for this purpose. Normally, I use them and it is very convenient. For example, when you enter the date and days for a specific city, it shows you the top attractions and plan the easiest way for you. First, it demonstrates the places, which are close to each other and the route. This way, you can easily navigate by walking and take the necessary transport when it is needed.
@GNaz very interesting! Which one are they? Can you indicate me some of them?
@Filippo_Monti Every time I use different one and therefore I can’t remember their names but if you search for travel planners I am sure you will find many of them.
@GNaz : I will check. Thanks.
