A short visit in the center of English pottery, Stoke-on-Trent, UK

Hi

We come with my son to Waterworld.

We slept in fantastic Potbank Aparthotel. I wrote about him post.

We arrived on the train around 6pm. It was a very warm evening. We decided to get to know the nearest area.

Stoke-on-Trent this federation of six cities was founded in 1910. These are: Stoke, Fenton, Tunstall, Hanley, Burslem, Longton.

The city that was created is the center of pottery industry in England.

At the railway station in Stoke we find beautiful paintings made of ceramic tiles.

Many buildings are decorated with ceramics.

We discovered the library building where the old connects with the new one.

We looked at the magnificent Stoke Town Hall.

The Stoke Minster tower attracted us from a distance.

We found an unusual work nearby. Bench …

The city Stoke-on-Trent offers many attractions related to the pottery industry: museums, galleries and shops.

In the morning we walk in the water park. We chose the road along the Trent and Mersey Canal with Etruria Industrial Museum.

and Cliff Vale Works Bottle Kilns

In Waterworld we had a great time.

But…

I was very unhappy that I was this city so short. I know that I will be back there for sure.

Do you have some stories related to pottery?

Hey @AgataZietal ,

Wait a minute. Are you living in Stoke? I was living literally five minutes from Waterworld and my house was on the Marina of the canal. I am really surprised how small is this world!

Hi @Sorbe

Wow…world is small. No. I am not live in Stoke. I live near Preston. I was in Waterworld only. Your city is very interesting. I will visit there in the future. Have you been at the Spode Heritage Museum?

Hey @AgataZietal ,

Thank you for your reply. No, I have never had the chance to visit Preston , but I know the place thanks to the local football team, Preston North End. I have never visited the museum that you mentioned, but I passed so many times next to it during the walks on the canal. Was it worth to see it? As a gift I will show you a picture of my walk back home during a rare sunny day.
