The source of Niyund stream, the Kareri Lake at an elevation of about 3,320 meters that is located near to Dharamshala Himachal Pradesh is one of the high altitude lakes in the Indian Himalayan region. The Kareri Lake is formed by the inflow of melted water from the Manakiani Peak.
You can cover this trek in 2-3 days. July to August is best time to visit.
Day 1
Dharamshala -Ghera -Kareri Village Camp 1-2 Hours (By Bus or Taxi)
Kareri village - Niyund Nala - Lagot camp site - Kareri lake
Day 2
Kareri Lake - Dharamshala
Stay facilities are available in Kareri temple Sarai and in Lagot camp site. If youâre looking for more adventure you can hike to Mannkiani Peak.
