A Rubber Garden and Rubber Processing Plant

I have visited a Rubber Garden and Rubber Processing Plant near my native town; I have seen how liquid rubber (the main ingredient of rubber) collect from trees and make a hard rubber to use in the rubber industry. I will try to share my experience with other Local Guides.

The Rubber garden is situated around 35KM South-West from Mymensingh City. The name of the location is called Sontoshpur and the Rubber Garden name is Sontoshpur Rubber Garden and Processing Plant. The Garden and processing plant is a government owned.

I have been in the garden in the morning time, at first I take permission from the authority to visit the garden and the processing plant for avoiding any unnecessary harassment for security issue. When I reached in the garden I saw workers are collecting liquid rubber from rubber trees to small container, then all the containers carrying to the processing plant. In the processing plant, big containers filled with collected rubber liquid with some water and other necessary chemicals. After many process soft rubber slices into pieces and make it dry under sunlight. When the rubber slices become very dry then it burn through heat to make usable rubber for rubber industry.

Hi @AbdullahAM ,

Thanks for sharing.

It’s super interesting, I have never seen how rubbers are made. Is everyone allowed to visit this garden? Can you try any of the procedures?

Hello @Petra_M

Thank you for your interest about the Rubber Garden.

The area of the garden is very big and they welcome to anyone to visit the garden. The best way is to visit the office first and take a permission for avoiding any unwanted harassment from security guard.

The best time is the morning time, so can see the liquid collection process from the rubber trees.

Hello @ShafiulB

This is a very nice place who loves to visit green forest to explore new things.

@AbdullahAM Appreciate your interest and detailed description about Rubber Plantation. In my native place Kerala,India rubber is cultivated plenty having used for tyre etc. But the alternative and substitute for it resulted in low price which affected the industry.
