A quarantined birthday: Making the best of home cooking.

My birthday happened, but I refuse to grow older. Lol! So instead of heading out I spent my day making myself this meal of baked fish, baked Matooke, fried potatoes and beef stir fry.

Cheers to a year that didn’t happen  .

Hi @desree256 ,

Happy birthday and thanks for sharing your special meal with us! Recently I have been cooking a lot more and I agree with you, we should always take time to treat ourselves and our beloved ones. :slightly_smiling_face:

I love seafood, is that a sea bream? Also your matooke got me curious, that’s a type of banana, right? You just put it in the oven and that’s it? :slightly_smiling_face:

If you want, you can take a look at this useful article: The lighting tip that makes food look delicious.

@Giu_DiB @Hey! We only have “lake food” here :joy: so this is nile perch.

Matooke is a banana staple here in Uganda traditionaly steamed and mashed in banana leaves. I choose to steam (with the peels on)…it can be baked too.
