My name is Randeep and I am 5th level local guide on google maps. I love google maps and have been using the service for more then 8 years now. I started posting reviews and pictures about 4 years ago. when I started I used to live in small town in state of Punjab which is north west India. Maps were good but there were still many old and new businesses which were not listed on maps. I would list them on maps and after it got approved I used to show it my friends saying “Hey look this place is on google maps now”. Even for small thing is got immense satisfaction that I contributed to online community in some way. Later on I moved to Canada and then when my use of google maps increase almost ten times. I would post a review and ratings, sometimes a picture even when ever I visit a new place. It was later I think local guide program started and I was happy that I could track my contributions through it. Recently one of the picture I posted which I had taken during the trip to Maskoka region in Ontario had over 4500 views. I was very happy to see that. Things like these when you know that a small piece of information you provide could help many other people who was looking for relevant information makes it worth it. I will continue to do so in foreseeable future.Happy exploring everyone.
