a portrait of dry season agriculture

Hello friends, i wanna share about dry season on going here, and some of our rice fields can’t be planted. So like long holiday and rely on garden products such as coconut and taro, mangosteen, jackfruit.

Hello @Nyainurjanah ,

That’s a very nice and interesting post that you shared with us. Is it always like that? The soil looks very similar in the northeast region in my country (Brazil) where there’s not much rains for a very long period and there is more common to find corn fields.

Hello @FelipePK , yeahh nice know Brazil and Indonesia almost similar, Dry season 4-6 month here,so after harvested rice, leave the fields without plants for a few moments.

sometimes sweet potatoes are planted because they are more resistant to dry weather.Anyway i love corn especially roasted corn,

Oh yeah @Nyainurjanah , in the last past years we were kind of having a very long dry season and it was effecting the whole country making even lowing the levels of the water in the dams and also harming a bit the harvests.

For us it’s more common to have corns boiled. I’ve only see roasted corns when I moved to Europe.
