What is the most interesting thing you’ve done as a Local Guide?
One of my favourite perks about being a Local Guide is being able to portray my city in it’s beauty- the way I percieve my surroundings, to share with others. Sydney is such a beuatiful city, and I have lived here a long time. As a photogrpaher I love being able to use my Local Guide status to share how Sydney turns it on (the lights, that is…)
Or share my favourite sunset location at Camp Cove Beach:
I’m a very visual person. As a Local Guide, my favourite thing to do is share my favourite parts of Sydney through my own perspective. Maps has transcended simply being a location reference tool, people use this everyday to build a picture of what a location looks like, and whether it would be worth visiting. I love having the abilitly to impact this decision making (hopefully postively) through my own imagery, and use this to build a story.
Centennial Park, for example, is not simply a grassland with muddy puddles after rainfall. It’s also my husky’s favourite place to cool off:
And sometimes it’s nice to just sit and talk with the locals:
I love leaving my own personal imprint on the Maps world as a Local Guide. To me personally, this is the most interesting thing I have done and it’s great to see how many users view my images.
Thank you for reading.
