The Local Guides program to me has been a place to connect, learn, full of fun and opportunities. My journey as a local guide began a few years ago and it has been an awesome experience.
Millions of people rely on google maps daily for navigation to places, and information about places they intend to visit. My involvement and contribution as a Local Guide is crucial because it enables me to connect these people to places. My contributions on maps such as adding places and photos to maps goes along way to help a lot of people.
One of the places I visited in the United States was Beulah Heights University, Atlanta Georgia and the photo I added has helped over 200,000 people based on the views that particular photo got.

The reviews I write of my experiences of the places I have been gives the people intending to visit that place an idea of how the place is, the kind of service to expect. One of the reviews that I wrote that helped people over 18,000 times is my experience at Logan international airport, Boston USA.

Through this I connect people to my world and places.
Through local guide connect I get to learn a lot of stuff from other local guides. The posts they share are very informative and give great insight on how to be a better guide. Through the exchange ideas and general discussion there are numerous informative posts.
Its also fun because I get to enjoy different posts from local stories that enable me to learn a lot about different people and cultures.
Local guides has also given me the opportunity to make new friend from different nationalitys and cultures. Through connect and WhatsApp groups we connect and do what we love doing…WE GUIDE.
We celebrate together Google map’s 15th birthday and continue to connect people to our world through our contributions and experiences. I AM PROUD TO BE A LOCAL GUIDE.
