A place away from the overcrowded Puri Sea Beach...

Few kilometers away from Swargadwar, Puri, there is a temple worth visiting. [Shree Shree Omkareshwar Temple](http://ଶ୍ରୀ ଶ୍ରୀ ଓଁକାରେଶ୍ଵର ମନ୍ଦିର Shree Shree Omkareshwar Temple, Omkareswar temple, road, Puri, Odisha 752002) is located about 5 km away from Puri Swargadwar and about a km from the estuary, beside Dhaudia river and opposite to Sonai More.

Though the exterior of the temple is too simple, the interior is very intricately designed with several praiseworthy artworks. It comprises several smaller temples of various deities within and notewothy of them are that of Nagraja, Lord Nrusingha and Radha Krishna and Jagannath.

On the southern side, outside the temple there is a beautiful statue of Lord Shiva, similar to that of Siddeshwara dhaam.

Within the temple there is an Aviary comprising different birds twittering and warbling which creates an amazing atmosphere altogether.

Facilities:

Parking for four wheelers is quite a problem here. Cars are to be parked just beside the road. Two wheeler parking is available outside the temple without any charges. Well maintained toilets are available on the southern side behind the statue of Lord Shiva.

How to reach:

Local auto rickshaws and E-rickshaws are available from Swargadwar or from Puri station. Charges vary from Rs. 300-500 per booking. However, booked rickshaws charging about Rs. 600/- provide a complete tour of all the local temples in the area. The temple is not accessible in wheelchairs.
