A piece of Europe in Argentina : "Villa General Belgrano"

The last winter holidays, I went (again, and again) to this little town in Córdoba province called “Villa General Belgrano”.

As in many parts of my country, the Italian and Spanish roots are very strong, in Villa General Belgrano are most of them from Central Europe.

I have to tell you that you find there a heaven of beer and foody place with mostly German and many other European countries habits.

Villa General Belgrano is famous for the production of craft beers, for the excellent gastronomy, for the Oktoberfest that takes part from october 4th to october 14th (“Oktoberfest”) like the european beer fests, and an alpine style of the city infraestructure.

Villa General Belgrano is about 760 km (9 hs) from Buenos Aires, by car.

Also from my City “Rosario” is about 460 km (5 hs, 25 minutes), always by car.

“Plaza Jose Hernandez”

“Alpine Chocolate Fest”

In July take place the "Alpine Chocolate Fest, it is a festival where all the city business presents their products based on chocolate and other stuffs relative with it, in the Turism Center. All the ambient smells really amazing, there is chocolate everywhere, and it is obligatory to taste some.

Apart of all the chocolate they are shows of typical dancers of Central Europe, shows for the kids, and typical european music.

“Gastronomy”

I left you the best restaurants (on my opinon) and places to have breakfast, lunch or dinner, and a racomendatin for every one:

  1. Restaurante Bierkeller Try the insuperable “Goulash with Spaetzle” (Hungarian)
  2. El Potrerillo Resto Bar Bondiola Sandwich with craft beer!!
  3. Viejo Munich German sausage with chucrut! and a lot of Beer!
  4. Cafe Rissen Selva Negra cake with coffee!
  5. La Tasca Mora Milanesa Napolitana with frech fries!

“Witches Zone”

I hope you like the post, dear fellow Guides, and keep mapping the world

Do you have in your country any región with other country habits like this?

Feel free to comment below,

Thanks! Regards

Hi @SebaasC ,

How interesting! Is this an annual thing happening there? I think it’s really great to have something different where people can experience. I’ve been to similar events for Asian culture and it’s really cool and interesting.

I’m curious what did you like most about the event?

Hello @DanniS ! Thank you for your kindly feedback.

The town is always like this, all the year with all this European stuffs everywhere.

The events that are annual are:

  • Oktoberfest this year from 4 to 14 October based like other beer fests
  • The Alpine Chocolate Fest, every July. (Based on Chocolate)
  • Viennese Pastry Festival 18 to 21 April ( Bases on Pastry)

I have been in the three, and the event that I like most is the Oktoberfest, I really enjoy tasting different beers, crafts and industrial ones.

Thanks, Regards!!
