Buddhism is the religion which is followed by the majority locals in this beautiful village. It was an interesting experience for us to learn and understand the unique culture and traditions from this part of Sikkim. As per the locals and tourist guides, the best time to visit this wonderful place is during the “Saga Dawa Festival” which is in the month of June. During this festival period the locals will gather in numbers to perform all the religious activities and celebrate their culture in full colors.
We visited this gem of place during the November, which was the start of winter season. We reached this village (Lachung) from the capital city “Gangtok” which is approximately, 110 Kms. We traveled to this place in a SUV car which was rented from Gangtok. Lachung village is well connected through road network and can be reached easily. Their are ample number of accommodations in Lachung and can be easily booked through any hotel reservation websites/applications.
