A photo is worth more than thousand opinions

This post is to explain the reasons why I love sharing photos of the sites I visited and liked on Google Maps.

First, I think that the best way to know an unknown place is through photos. For instances, when I hear about an interesting place, I usually look for it in Google Maps to know how it looks before visiting it. Also, when I see beautiful images, I have more enthusiasm for going.

On the other hand, photos don’t express your own opinions and experiences, so they don’t influence negatively or positively the person who looks at them. For instance, I remember that a couple of friends recommended me a restaurant whose speciality is breaded meat, because I love that. When I searched this restaurant on Google Maps, I read many negative opinions such as “the food is not so good”, “the service is awful”, “the meat is tough”, etc., I was surprised because my friends told me that the place was nice. So, that discouraged me and I didn’t go. However, one day I was walking with my mother, we were looking for a place to eat and we see this restaurant. I said to my mom that I had read many negative reviews, but we came inside anyway. Finally, the food was amazing, all the comments that I had read were wrong. That’s why I don’t normally read opinions now, I prefer to see the photos and take my own conclusions.

Additionally, as I have said before, the photos shared by other users help me a lot to choose a place. When I invite my family to eat out, I see the photographs to know the place or the food, so I can know if my family will like it too. For that reason, I want to help other people to know a place through images too.
