A Perfect Match- Tea and Toast Biscuit

For many Indians like me, Tea and Toast biscuit are ideally made for each other. Toast biscuit also known as “Milk Rusk” is primarily a bread which is baked at least twice or multiple number of times till the bread becomes crunchier and yummier. Many toast lovers believe that the taste of toast biscuits is quite like biscotti which is very common in USA. Toast biscuits are usually dipped in hot tea/milk and is consumed.

The main ingredients used in the preparation of Toast biscuits are white flour, milk, butter, sugar and eggs. Toast biscuits are very common site in bakeries, they generally use “Masonry Oven” in preparing this delicacy. This can also be prepared at home provided Baking Oven is available at home. The biscuits can stay fresh with same taste for at least two weeks provided they are kept in airtight containers. The average number of calories in one toast biscuit is equivalent to 46 Calories with high carbohydrates.

Glad you also like these Rusk biscuits @fasi6083 !

I always have a packet of these in my pantry. You are right these biscuits and tea are made for each other. I take tea only because of these crispy biscuits.

@fasi6083 in Philippines we do the same thing too. We pair tea or coffee with a toast that we call “biscutcho” or with any bread that we dip in the coffee or tea. Here is a photo of me eating the bread with coffee in a Filipono way. We dip the bread and drink the coffee.
