A fun part of being a Local Guide would undeniably be rising through the levels by making quality contributions to Google Maps, whether it be with reviews, photos/videos, or adding missing places or roads.
And while leveling up is a great challenge and journey, I’m sure I speak for many Local Guides when I say I love seeing the impact of my contributions on Google Maps users quantified.
Photo views through the app, edit views, photo reactions, you name it.
As someone who commutes frequently to and from via car, I was ecstatic to finally see stats enabled for queries (relating to road issues) received when navigating. I love reporting potential incidents or watch outs along my route, whether it be construction, lane closures, or slowdowns. I’ve always hoped for and imagined a sort of kudos system for doing so. And now with these post-arrival notifications, I can finally see and celebrate how many other Google Maps users/navigators I’ve been able to help.
Any other drivers seeing this new rollout? What are some of your other favorite type of contributions, quantified?
