In the scorching heat of the Indian summer, the month of May usually brings with it a haze that obscures the night skies, making star gazing a challenging endeavor. However, nature had a delightful surprise in store this year. Frequent rains blessed the land, clearing the atmosphere and unveiling a crystal-clear canvas for celestial wonders. Armed with my Nikkor 300mm lens, I embarked on a moon shot adventure, brimming with anticipation. As I focused my lens towards the sky, the moon revealed itself in great details. Despite the modest capabilities of my lens, it captured the lunar surface with good clarity, showcasing some good details and craters that left me in awe. The experience of shooting the moon always evokes a thrill, a sense of connection with the vastness of the universe. Yet, my longing eyes couldn’t capture the brilliant spectacle of Mars, the brightest star in that period. Nevertheless, I am filled with curiosity and excitement to witness the snaps of others who might have seized this opportune window to immortalize the moon. Capturing the moon in such detail always leaves me stunned, only reminding us of the infinite possibilities that lie beyond our earthly realm.

I can feel your excitement, @Trail_blazer , as it happened to me too.
Capturing the moon it is indeed exciting, and I loved to do it, for a quite long time.
Then, in some moment (and probably hundred photos of the moon later), I changed my mind, and I transformed my love for the moon, moving from “my photos of the moon” to “my photos with the moon”.
Wonder if you want to try the same? If so, this post is for you: “The Eagle has landed” - The moon on your stories

@ErmesT Indeed you are right within 2-3 years you take so many moonshots that’s it become quite common thing and the only thing you look after that is more powerful lens which can zoom at surface better and focus on craters and after that maybe take video shots of moon with great stability but gears aren’t that cheap just to adventure on one thing (at least for me). I have the dslr since 2019 and I’m still attracted to moon a lot ( other celestial bodies as well but alas I don’t have the lens for them) I did play with moonshots like what you did with street light but i feel they might be over done and I’m not sure if people would like them. I used to post a lot at Insta. Below are few shots . And there is no doubt a good story helps in engaging people it and keep it interesting.
