Monuments are sculptor erect to commemorate the dawn of an era, victory in war, honour heroes from all spheres of human endeavor. The hero could come from the military, politics, academic or art. For example, a monument common to every Russian city is that of Vladimir Lenin. Even a small head bust of his could be found in small communal settlements. It may be interesting or not interesting.
But that is not where I am going today, I see the world is revolving and new ideas are emerging every day. What is considered anti-social yesteryears are the norms of today. I mostly see a progressive and don’t subscribe to any reservation in the path of developments.
It was just last weeks when I was low on topics, I decided to go for walk somewhere new in variance from my usual walk routine. This time around I went to a popular boulevard in the city, the Prospekt Oktyabrya in search of inspiration. As I was walking, one subject I continuously came across are these modern sculptors placed at busy junctions and near entrance to shopping malls. They are not there to celebrate any monumental achievements in any way. They are monuments to everyday activities and to the people who live in the city. They may look ordinary yet still convey important messages. They are tribute to everyone and everything that make the city works.
Hi @AbdullahAM Thanks for reading. These are small sculptures that dotted the city. They are interesting in the own way . They all have different stories to tell.
The picture you posted is an interesting one. Where is it located in Bangladesh?
I see it as an inspiration to do post on giant monuments that we have in Ufa too.
Hi @helga19 It is great to notice unusual thing in ordinary. The sculptures are many in the city that I cannot remember where I saw them all. One thing I understand is that they are fun to see on the streets . That why we often to stop to look at them and even take selfies.
I wish I can visit the Art park in Moscow too. Moscow is megalopolis that I want to explore . Whenever I was in the city, I was usually in hurry rushing from government offices to another.
The weather is very cold now , snow has started falling but does not stay long on the ground. Now we walk lesser than usual . Most time we go to kino theatres and restaurants.
Nice and interesting post @Emmik20 ! Certainly a different perspective to capture the ‘everyday life’. I especially like the balloon sculpture as it is rather unique and funny! Thanks for sharing and looking forward to your next adventure!
