A Masterpiece restored

In Lecce, one of the most beautiful cities in the southern part of Italy, we have rediscovered the most beautiful and the best example of a unique style, called Barocco Leccese. After many years of restoration, the church of “Santa Croce”, built in 17th century, shine again. This masterpiece is made by pietra leccese, a unique type of stone that could be used for fine decorations. In fact, the church represents the essence of the style: the facade seems embroidered in every part because of every component is decorated. That explains why the restoration has taken a long time.

Every other word isn’t enough, you must see that to comprehend why I’m in love with this pearl.

The ticket to enter costs 5 euros, but that give you the access in many parts of the city that is rich of churches, baronal buildings with fabulous courtyards and a lot of other places.

I love the ornate sculptures and architecture! I have heard that the interior is equally beautiful. Did you get any photos inside?
