A Lovely Day in Leipzig

I visited Leipzig this weekend to check out its university. Leipzig is a small city in Germany, a two hour drive South to Berlin. I didn’t know much about this place, but I decided to spend my Saturday there and I am very glad I did so!

I wasn’t only impressed with the modern building of the University of Leipzig, the town has so much to offer too! It is a mixture of modern architecture, old styled streets and lots of parks, lakes and a beautiful river.

Fun Facts:

Apparently, Leipzig has more bridges than Venice and Napoleon had fought one of his major battles here.

If you’d like, you can check out my photos of Lepzig, so that even if you live far away, you can still admire its beauty!

I am also looking forward to virtually explore other parts of the world through the contributions of other Local Guides, so please leave a review if you liked my post and tell me which part of the city you liked the best!

@Eyadisho Really? That is so cool! Do they like it there? I am also planning to move there in the near future. I currently live in the lively city of Berlin, but there is something special about the relaxed atmosphere of Leipzig.

They love it is so much, they are not even planning to leave the city, and as you mentioned the city is a very good place to relax, and since it has a good university so the majority of people there are students so it provides a good atmosphere… I believe it is a good place to stay for students…

If you need more information I can ask them for more details if you are interested :slight_smile:

Fantastic post @csonmonika about a not so known but beautiful town in Germany.

I have been there around one year ago and was positive surprised. I haven’t seen so much nature like you, but at least 2 places we have visited in common :wink:

@TorM What a small world, but that is so nice to hear that you have also been there! Like you, I wasn’t expecting much so it was also a positive surprise for me too to see how nice Leipzig is.

@TorM By the way, I cannot comment on your post about Leipzig and Bach for some reason, but you also have a really nice collection of photos and I loved to read more about Leipzig!

I like it, as well it is very historical. I have been there right after the wall fall in 1989 and to see how it looks now, was a flash.

@csonmonika

On the other hand, I remember that the PARTY I did join there, was very funny and I was a little bit sad, not to have had the possibility to repeat it :wink:

I did think so (with the age) :wink: @csonmonika

But believe me, it was an amazing time, to be a teenager when the wall did fall…

Thanks @csonmonika for sharing, base on your nice photos, Leipzig looks lovely city. It shown mixed modern and classic style of architecture, quiet, natural, and collected! Your description also informative. Unfortunately i can’t stop by to Leipzig when i went to Germany few years ago. I read that Leipzig is save a long history that i want to go there.
