Each email is different, from person to person. It’s based on what you shared on Google Maps over the last year. To compare with others, post a screenshot of yours in the comments, then share it on your favorite social channels using #LocalGuides.
Don’t forget to say what you’re inspired to do more of as a Local Guide in 2018.
Your efforts help others around the globe. The questions you answer let people know if a place is wheelchair-accessible, kid-friendly, and more. Your edits make it possible to navigate an accurate representation of our world. And when you create true-to-life photos and thoughtful reviews, you guide millions of locals and travellers alike to your discoveries.

Answers to questions you may have
I didn’t get an email. Can you send me one/again?
This email was sent to registered Local Guides who made two or more contributions in 2017. We are not able to send emails upon request nor can we resend emails. If you did not receive this email, please check your Local Guides email settings and also check your spam folder.
I didn’t get the email in my preferred language; Why?
Our emails are sent based on the language preference you have set on your Google Account. Please check the setting by visiting myaccount.google.com.
My totals on the email are different than the Google Maps app, why?
The point total on the email reflects your total score as December 31, 2017. If you’ve contributed since then, you may have a higher total in the app. Additionally, your points may decrease if content is removed for violating our policies.
I’ve been to more countries. Can I see more information?
More information is not available at this time. We are working on different ways to improve this email and others in the future. As always, feel free to share your thoughts or suggestions on the Feedback and Feature Requests board on Connect.

We are not sharing information about other Local Guides. However, you can share a screenshot of your email on this post on Connect, and with other Local Guides you know. Follow #LocalGuides on social media to spot what others are sharing.

Why does my email look different from other people’s emails?
Modules appear based on an individual’s personal contributions, that’s what makes each one unique!
How did my pictures/reviews get so many views?
When you contribute a photo or review to a place on Google Maps, it becomes viewable by anyone in the world across Google. The more people that view that place, the better the chances your contribution will be visible. The more popular a place is, the more likely that your contribution will be viewed.
I don’t want to receive these emails anymore. Can I opt out?
Yes. You’ll need to visit the Local Guides Homepage and click on Settings. From there you can adjust your email preferences, or you can unsubscribe from the bottom of your email.
