A local Local Guide guiding a Local Guide [Recap] #LGsummit2017 - Part 2

We are going to have many parts… This is the link for going to the index

(Part 1 by Ermest, Check it here)

Tuesday, October, 10

I am very excited this morning. Today is the day that many of us have been dreaming from months… This afternoon will start the “Best Summit Ever”.

I arrived at San Francisco 3 days before and participated in three meet-ups (coffe with @HiroyukiTakisawa , bike with @KimberlyAnnG , and dinner with @SoniaK ) and many other things (wiht @AnnaBcn , @CaduF … ) these allowed me to meet some attendants before Summit. I think is was a good idea to arrive before and acclimated.

I was very surprised by the confidence we had, it seemed that we had known each other for a long time … We felt friends and enjoyed being together.

In the morning I woke up in my Hostel, I had breakfast and started to HO with SarahKa and @ElianeFranco because we wanted to go to toguether to the Hyatt Hotel San Francisco Fisherman’s Wharf. I Got ready my suitcases, made the check-out (I found JULIENH cheking-out too) and we three shared and Uber to the Hotel.

Just arriving we started to see more LGs excited ( Ermest, @PavelSarwar , @KarenVChin and @Carl ) full of energy and ready to share one of the most unique and irrepetible experiences of our lives.

And this is one of the first photos, is from Ermest not from me!!! I was so immersed in this moment that forgot to take photos… Now I don´t have many to share with you, a pity, but luckily it’s all in my mind…

It is a very special feeling to recognize ourselves, greet each other and begin to establish a friendly relationship. And I know that many of them will last a lifetime …

We are very different, from very different countries and cultures, but we share a passion: we are Local Guides. This is our special bond.

And we started with the check-in a Hotel…

Part 3 will be continued by… @SarahKa . Check here episode 3

Ya, I like the way you explained the story too @AlejandraMaria . I will write my detailed comment later. I am in a little hurry now. Just took a quick look at Connect and saw my name was mentioned. So couldn’t help seeing what it was.

I have subscribed the post to write more, later. Bye now.

Hehe, @AlejandraMaria

Love this. The first “multiple post” of a story. I’m trying to imagine it like a film director. Different points of view, converging to the same place, people crossing each other, in every subjective view.

My story is not finished, we moves in different way. @KarenVChin

story is just coming, other story will cross ours.

Am I crazy?

Hello @SoniaK !

Yesterday, our friend @ErmesT was inspired and decided that we could make a Recap together. He started with part one, and stop in a point. What we have to do is continue the Recap when we are selected by the previous attendee. So I focus on the previous hours before Summit and remember that moment.

I like the idea because reminds me Gianni Rodari, another clever italian; this one was a pedagogue that develop these kind of techniques with kids to improve creativity and language.

So let´s continue this “Multiple post”…

Thanks @OSAMA , let’s see how the history flows…

I will give you a suggestion: why not start a shared doc where everyone could write a chapter of #lgsummit17?

It´s a very good idea @LucioV . We have to ask to our “Film director” @ErmesT , and how he preferes to continue…

Thanks

Cool idea @AlejandraMaria , I love it. I have also another suggestion, we can continue writing the recaps and at the end of each recap, we can challenge another summit participant, to share their stories. Like you have already mentioned @SarahKa , in your post, to continue. I like @LucioV 's idea as well. It will concise the whole summit under one click.

@ErmesT , my guru, you are great with ideas, as always.

Btw, where is part 1? I must have missed it. Was it posted by @ErmesT or someone else? Can you share the link here @AlejandraMaria ?

Edited: Never mind. Got the link at the beginning of your post. My bad, didn’t realize that it was there from the very beginning. :stuck_out_tongue:

@AlejandraMaria , @SoniaK , @LucioV , @HiroyukiTakisawa , I was already thinking about a shared document. My Idea is, (try to follow me and tell me if I’m crazy or not - say yes please) to have everyone story that go to cross with other stories.

There is not a linear story, from A to B to C to D. There are individual, or group story, that are crossing in some point.

Please remember that the title of the topic is: a Local Local Guides guiding a Local Guide. What does it means: local Local Guides are LG that know the place where we were (San Francisco) and helped us to enjoy it, guiding us in their local places. Most of us, being there for the very first time, was helped from a local Local Guide, like @KimberlyAnnG , or @KarenVChin . If you go back to my post you will see that in my very first day I was helped via HangOut.

After we met at Hyatt, I was guided by Karen for a few hours, and the same was for a lot of us. In the other side, the part of the 150 that was there for the second time, helped acting like local LG.

The focus is in this point, do not forget it: local LG guiding LG.

For my second part, I’m going to use a shared doc, trying to write a story like a double interview, together with Karen (because we were together, at that moment). So, if you were in a group, you can share a group story

Tomorrow or Saturday I will prepare a Post in “share your photos”, to link in a logic way all the single posts (that can also have an individual life). but remember, the focus is not on us, the focus is on the local LG

Is it clear?

Don’t say yes, I dont believe you. Good night

yeeey, Great continuation!

Thanks @AlejandraMaria ! I won’t let you down

Here is too late right now, but as soon as I wake up, I will post part 3 <3

@SoniaK yeah, we could do that =)

Love that spirit girl @SarahKa . I am off to bed too…will wake up in the morning with the hope to see Part 3 and so on…I am excited!

@ErmesT , got your point Ol’pa. Will do as you suggest. You are the BOSS. And I don’t think anybody will have short of stories how they were helped by the local LGs of San Francisco. Starting from landing at San Francisco, I was given suggestions by Ivan in hangout how and where to find the triple A team. All three of them, Ivan, Karen and Kim, they are the true local guides in spirit.

Yes @SoniaK

Don’t tell anybody, this is the idea, they are our local Local Guides

You read in my mind
