The Local Guides program has had an important impact on my life since the day I joined the program 3 years back. For me, being a local guide means a local hero and a social activist.
I being a doctor have always wanted to help people who are in need. My hospital is my first platform to do that and google map is the second and the largest platform for me to help people. I have never experienced such a globally huge platform to make friends, share experiences, culture and love. I have a lot that I can learn from others through this platform. Truly, this program celebrates the unity among all the local guides around the world.
It gives me immense pleasure how being a local guide allows me to help others from all around the world, especially the tourists coming to my place. It also gives me an inner peace thinking about I how I have helped some small local business to grow by adding their locations, photos, giving reviews and ratings; and also, the travelers in making the right decisions. Some of my most helpful photos are shown below. They might have been helpful because the photo showed the ambience of the place and also the special food available at that place.
I also love the way the google sends me an email of how many people I have helped, and upgrades of my achievements every month. This not only makes me proud but also makes me excited to move further and help people. I have also asked my friends and siblings to do the same wherever they go as this helpful nature can bring the world together. And finally, I have also started making a list on google maps to make an easy way to suggest a friend.
