Being a local guide is all about learning about the community you are in. This means even when you are traveling you have the “local guide” mindset. I love learning about other cultures and when I travel I soak up all I can about the culture. Giving a 5-star review to a small restaurant or shop in another part of the world helps promote their business and in turn, I learn so much about why their family founded the establishment in the first place. It’s about establishing relationships with people around the world to help build a better community. The Earth is big, but it’s a small community when you begin connecting the dots and educating yourself about other cultures, stories, people, and neighborhoods. It’s a mindset I try to be in whether I’m at home in Seattle or having dinner in Densapar.
