I am a local guide and humanitarian worker from Hunza Pakistan located in the extreme North of Pakistan. I have visited 15 countries and I contributed a lot in terms of places, photographs and videos of my home country and other countries too. I have worked with Google Map Makers (Pakistan) on humanitarian response in Attabad Disaster relief support in 2010 http://local.com.pk/hunza/ and contributed for the Pakistan Monsoon Floods 2010. http://local.com.pk/ I was the only volunteer working with them from the ground and updating information through the Google based web for almost six years. I was continuously monitoring the lake level and altering local communities to remove their houses and settlements to submerge.
I have updated a lot of places in Gilgit-Baltistan, tourist destinations, restaurants, hotels, viewpoints, tracks, seasonal settlements and huts, lakes, glaciers, peaks, bridges, suspension bridges, schools, community centers, shrines, historical places etc.
I have digitized many roads and tracks in Gojal valley and make them accessible to people can reach there and enjoy the natural beauty.
I have lined many videos with Google map from around the world when the option was available, here my video blog that I am contributing to promote tourism, eco-tourism and supporting communities in disaster in my region. http://gulbtur.wordpress.com
I have solved many main issues of community through Google map and it helps me to measure the altitudes, lengths and explaining donors on maps how it will help and resolve issues on Water, irrigation, glacial surge, GLOFs etc. http://holdgojal.wordpress.com
The contributions really make me proud that I am helping people in different means, it benefit a tourist, a nature lover, a researcher, a resource person, an humanitarian community and many more.
