A little shrine for a god of love, Unedorisama (卯子酉様), #monthlytopic of July 2020

Unedori shrine (The local people call Unedori-sama) in Tono-city, Iwate enshrines a god of love. This is a little Shinto shrine but the place is really impressive. Of course, it has been loved by the local people, especially couples, for a long time.

The way to pray is very easy. There is an unmanned sales stall that sells red fabrics next to the shrine. Purchase a red fabric and tie it to a branch of a sacred tree in the shrine using only your left hand. That’s all! It’s very easy, isn’t it?

When you visit Tono-city, please try to do it with your partner.

[Japanese]

@HiroyukiTakisawa The shrine looks impressive as you said. To tie the fabric with left hand only! Hahaha, I think it’s a bit difficult.

Thank you for sharing this post with us.

To save time you need to practice at on how to tie fabric by left hand only @Ant_Bad_Yogi :grinning:

Thanks for sharing the nice photos of the Shrine @HiroyukiTakisawa Praying system of this shrine is really unique. I think if someone’s wish is true, he/she may get it not even by tieing the fabric, they should request God there from the core of heart and God may fulfill it.

Interesting story, @HiroyukiTakisawa -san.

Can we pray by hanging any red fabric, or have to use special one?

When is the most popular time to pray here? We can do it anytime or at special occasion?

Thank you for sharing this. Interesting story. Arigato!:smiling_face:

Hello, @iorikun301

You can use your fabric but I think a red one is the best. Some people tie it after writing a message or a wish. I don’t know the most popular time but most people will go there during the holidays. And of course, we can go anytime because there is not a gate or a reception.
Doitashimasite!

@HiroyukiTakisawa I think you haven’t mentioned in vain that it’s better to visit the place in pairs. Is it possible to use two left hands for one wish?

Hi, @OlgaKlimchik

I didn’t know that but I believe it must be a good idea! A god of love is kind and generous, isn’t it?
