A Journey to New Delhi from Bangalore during Lock down through a Special Train.

Hi Folks,

Today I want to share my travel experience from Bangalore to New Delhi through a Special Train.

Guys, this was not a normal Journey & may help many travelers traveling from Bangalore to Delhi or from any other state to another state that’s why & I thought to share it with you all.

My Journey started from Brookfield, a region in Bangalore.

On the 12th of May, Luckily I got a ticket from the Indian Railways Offical Website (IRCTC) for the last 17th of May and was advised to reach the station 90 minutes before the departure time.

Then the next challenge was to search a mode of Convince to reach the Railway Station Named as

Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna (Bengaluru) which around 16Km away from my location.

A day before the journey I started searching for an auto, a cab, or anything that can help me out.
Then, a talked an auto driver who was charging 1200 Rupees for 16Km.
!!!
!!!
!!!
!!
But__, the actual charge for that station was around 70 Rupees if a took a bus, but in lockdown, buses were also not working.
I asked many auto and cab drivers but everyone was demanding the same amount of money.
then after extensive search and bargaining, I convinced an auto driver for 600 Rupees.
It was high but It was the last option for me.

My train was at 8:30 pm but left my location at around 2:00 pm
My friends helped me to pack my luggage and helped me to reach near to my auto.(above image).
So After 1hr and 25 mins journey, I reached to Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna (Bengaluru) Railways Station.

There was already a very long queue and people were sitting on the footpath & it was a bit horrible too.

These are the Images of Queue.

As I reached the station far before (at 3:30 pm) the departure time (8:30 pm), so I was actually not allowed to enter in the Station area and have to wait outside(on the footpath) till 5:00 Pm.

Then at 4:00 Pm, they created a queue shown in the above pictures.
As the clock touched 5:00 Pm they allowed us to enter inside the station area.

Now,
Again they created two more rows and sanitized our hands with alcohol-based Hand Sanitizers.
They Checked my ticket along with my Id card in the same row.

After 10-15 minutes, they started letting people enter inside the station area, but before the entry, every person had to go through the thermal screening.
The Officials checked the temperature of every passenger and if their temperature found normal only after then they were allowed to enter inside the station area.

When I got entered inside the station, I found it very clean, everything was good, there were circles on the floor so that people maintain social distancing.

The Ticket Checker first checked my name and then allowed me to enter inside the train coach.
The train coach was moderately cleaned and sanitizer was present at the washbasin.

Most of the people inside the train were aware of the social distancing and were wearing the mask and using sanitizer frequently.

There were no curtains on the windows and Bedsheet, Piloo, Blanket nothing was provided.
Only Packed Food Was served inside the train.

The Journey was comfortable but the toilets and washbasin became horribly dirty after a few hours of Journey and no one was there to clean them.

I have to wash my hands by taking many Precautions, and after the Journey of around 33hrs, I reached to New Delhi Railway Station.

Some Tips

  1. Always carry masks, hand Glups, Tissue Papers, Liquid Handwash & Sanitizers
  2. Before, Sitting on your seat always clean it with the help of Sanitizer.
  3. There will be no Bedsheet, no blanket, and no Pillow will be provided and try to carry your personal bedsheet & Blanket.
  4. You can carry your water bottles also you can buy them from inside the train.
  5. Try to use less as possible the public washbasin as possible.
  6. Try to use Tissue Paper for opening the Doors, tap.
  7. Always sanitize your hands before eating and drinking.
  8. I covered my luggage with the help of a plastic film, you can also try this.
  9. Try to buy as little as possible inside the train, as these people interact with many Passengers and may be harmful.
  10. Don’t Lose Hope. Always be confident and take every step carefully & Wisely.

Always be cautious as till now this is the only way to protect yourself from this Virus.

Thanks & Regards
