A journey of vegetarian with ichthyosis

All of my life, I’ve been suffering from a genetic skin disorder. As a child, I’ve been told that traveling is not for me since any changes in climate, food, and activities can influence my condition.

Luckily, my passion for journeys was strong enough to overcome this limitation. In big or small groups, with friends and family, together with my husband or all alone - with each new trip, I constantly prove to myself that everything is possible and that my condition is not a reason to ignore my dreams.

I used different services, apps and sources of information while traveling. However, during my last few trips, I usually made my choices concerning where to eat, what to visit and where to have some great time totally based on what I’d found on Google Maps. So I decided to become one of the Local Guides in order to say thank you to those who helped me and to help other travelers in my turn.

At some point, I found it very inspiring - to share my experience, concerning food in particular, since I’m a vegetarian, with other people to help them make respective choices easily, faster and in a more healthy manner. So now I pay special attention to the places where people like me can enjoy their meals and try to find such places in my native town - like, for example, Bali Bowl Cafe, my favorite place for breakfast in Kyiv.

I’m proud of being a Local Guide, 'cause it allows me to contribute to many people’s lives in some sense and opens great places not only for me but to the whole world.
