A Hidden Green Gem at Trincomalee Deer Park!

:herb: A Hidden Green Gem at Trincomalee Deer Park! :deciduous_tree::leaf_fluttering_in_wind:

During my recent visit to Deer Park in Trincomalee, I was pleasantly surprised by a peaceful corner full of lush trees and rare fruit-bearing plants. :four_leaf_clover: The greenery is not only well-maintained, but it also brings an instant sense of calm and connection with nature. :cherry_blossom::sparkles:

One particular fruit tree caught my eye — the Konal Puli (கோணற்புளி ) tree! :melon:

The fruit was small, with a delightful mix of sourness, sweetness, and a gentle tangy twist – the kind of nostalgic flavor that instantly reminded me of my childhood in the countryside. :face_savoring_food::thought_balloon:

Inside, the Konal Puli has a soft, white pulp that’s incredibly tender and satisfying to eat. :white_heart: The tree branches had little thorns – something quite typical of native varieties. :herb:

This type of tree is commonly found in Tamil Nadu and the northeastern regions of Sri Lanka, and many of us grew up loving its unique taste. That sudden rush of memory made me smile with joy. :face_holding_back_tears::green_heart:

:deer: Whether you’re a nature lover, a curious explorer, or a family on a quiet retreat, this spot inside Deer Park is a must-visit. Kids will love it too! :leaf_fluttering_in_wind::glowing_star:

:round_pushpin: If you’re ever in Trincomalee, don’t miss this serene green paradise – it’s perfect for nature walks, quiet reflection, and discovering local treasures like the Konal Puli. :herb::camera_with_flash:
