It’s time to engage with inalienable friends of this community for a conversation regarding a ruined 200 year years old temple based in Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhhanga, India.
It is said that this temple was meant for prayer by female members of Darbhhanga Maharaj’s family. Now ,this area has become a part of LNM University , Darbhhanga, India.
Assume friends of connect community will like this heritage place.
Hi @ShekharMuz_5 , It’s really nice photo and also nice history. If you need some details like how anyone can go there it will be more helpful. Thanks!
See , this uploaded photo & place are of Darbhhanga, merely 60 km east from my place–Muzaffarpur ,a prominent city of north Bihar. One can also go to that place
from Patna ,it’s 120 km in distance.
Darbhhanga Maharaj was not a king ,but a big landlord of this area .They don’t had army or flag ,that could be considered for
becoming a king . Despite this fact , they had palacial buildings and fort ,the LNM University and Sanskrit University are housed in these palatial buildings. Moreover, they had lakh of acres of land .Even every major cities of India, there are Darbhhanga Maharaj’s buildings.
Coming to most interesting part of this story, how Darbhhanga Maharaj became so powerful landlord of this region, they were given these properties by a Mughal Emperor over 300 years ago.
I would like to add a photo of a pond, just in front of this ruined temple, where queens of Darbhhanga Maharaj family used to take bath just before offering prayer to this heritage temple.
One point I wish to mention in this ongoing discussion is that Darbhhanga Maharaj’s land were extended to the vicinity of Bangla Dash.
Thanks for patience to go through the details of my story.
