A Hand that Gives is a Hand that Receives

Hello,

How amazing is it that one could provide a little help that would bear such a significant impact! That is the story that has inspired my experience with Google Maps. On my first visit to Nairobi, Kenya’s capital, I got myself entangled in the miasma of confusion as I got lost within the highly congested, ever-busy and always-on-the-move street networks of the city. For once in a lifetime, I could not tell whether I was moving northwards or vice versa. Since I was to locate one of the government offices in a building in the city center within the stipulated time, I had to keep on the move. Surprisingly, I could not tell the direction. When a thought about asking for directions flashed in my mind, I quickly brushed it off owing to the many stories of mugging and fraud that I had heard about the city. While at the helm of wonder and confusion, something tickled through my mind that left a smile on my face- I had my smartphone with me and as anyone could guess, Google Maps was the reason behind the smile. Within the shortest time possible, I had located the building- something that would have taken me ages without the input of Google Maps. Upon returning home, I gave much thought about the creators and contributors to Google Maps and how they revolutionized the world through use of technology. Since then, I vowed to offer any ounce of energy within me to provide as much contribution towards enhancing Google Maps and its effectiveness in my capacity as a Local Guide and ensure that someone else does not get “lost in the city” as I did!
