Hi @sailorbright ,

Thanks for sharing this delicious breakfast with us!

Did you prepare it yourself? I wish I could bake the brioche, but I’m not that good in baking. I usually eat omelette or toast with avocado, that’s my favorite.

@Petra_M Good Day,

To answer your question. Making brioche buns would take making breakfast a lot longer. We were lucky enough to pick up fresh Brioche buns from our local fresh produce and deli. Yes prepared by myself. I do all the baking and cooking at home, although some nights after work I tend to cook fast and easy meals. Gas cooking makes a big difference to. Saves on time.

Omelette and avocado :avocado: is another favourite. We got several avocados today.

Love oven baked omelette the best,

My oven baked omelette tend to vary as I add many different ingredients on various occasions and depends on whom I’m feeding.

What are you best at cooking?

It looks amazing @sailorbright !

I can cook many things, but if I take my friends’ opinion, my lasagne is the best.

@Petra_M Good morning from Brisbane, Australia.

Lasagne - “comfort food” :yum:

Do you have photos to share? And the recipe to? Haven’t made lasagne in years.

Absolutely a comfort food @sailorbright !

I tried to find a picture, but I guess we finished it faster, so that I could take a photo.

My recipe is:

Bolognese sauce

1 onion

1 celery stalk

1 carrot

2 tb spoon olive oil

500 gr minced meat

3 cloves of garlic

salt, pepper

300 ml red wine

500 ml passata (tomato)

100 ml milk

300 ml water

First chop the onions, grate the celery stalk and carrot, then fry them in a heated pan on a little olive oil. Add the minced meat, and fry it on over a high heat. You can add the chopped garlic, grated nutmeg, salt and pepper. Pour over the red wine, boil the ragout for 5 minutes, and also add the passata, milk and water. Simmer the ragout for 45 minutes over medium heat.

Bechamel

80 gr butter

80 gr flour

1,3 l milk

salt, white pepper

grated nutmeg

Melt the butter, sprinkle with flour, mix and heat. (Be careful the flour shouldn’t get brown!) While stirring constantly, add room temperature milk. After boiling for 5 minutes, it reaches the required density. You can add some salt, pepper and a grated nutmeg. Pour 150 ml into a bolognese ragout and mix well.

The last step is to piece together.

Spread the olive oil on the bottom of a high-walled baking sheet, put some ragout first than the lasagne pasta (not cooked), bolognese sauce, bechamel and lots of parmesan. Repeat it until the ingredients are gone, but the last lazer should be bechamel and cheese on top. Bake it on 200 celsius for 20-25 minutes.

Bon appetit!

@Petra_M we have nothing but time to try out recipes such as yours and like you said. Worth it.

Live near Brisbane, Australia? Hehe  Appreciate the open invitation. Very cultural. :earth_asia: :revolving_hearts:

Not really @sailorbright , so maybe it’s better if you try my recipe.

@Petra_M — No what you mean.

Australia’s still in lockdown. So time is plenty. Unless I’m working my essential job or my freelance writing business as well as writing my next self-help book.

Would definitely give your recipe a go when we’ve cooler climate. Temperatures are still quite high with barely any clouds in the sky. That’s the QLD lifestyle.
