A good place for a rainy day : The Kottage Cafe, Thailand

Where do you hang out on a rainy day? To me, I would love to sit in a cafe, read a book, enjoy a drink and just chill out. Well, today I would like to introduce you to a nice cafe in Pathumtani, Thailand. Pathumtani is only 1 hour and a half drive from Bangkok. Who knows! This cafe might be one of your favorite places to hang out on a rainy day.

The Kottage Cafe is located in Pathumtani, Thailand. The cafe is surrounded by rice fields, which make it a perfect place to hang out on a rainy day. Come with me, I will take you to the beautiful entrance and the nice outdoor seating of the cafe.

I arrived here about 10 AM, of course I was the first customer there. Here, we have to place an order inside the cafe and pay, then we can choose a corner to sit and enjoy the scenery around the cafe. I won’t make you wait, now let’s look at the nice interior of the cafe.

My main dish was Sauteed Dried Damsel Fish with Basil, it comes with fried egg, white rice and cucumber. My first bite was like WOW, the fish is so crispy, tasty and spicy with the basil sauce. Having it with rice and egg would be a perfect combination. This dish is my recommendation. If you love Basil dish, you will love this one.

For the drink and dessert, I had Banana Choco and Carrot Cake. The Banana Choco is so good, I had it with no sugar added, the sweet flavor comes from banana. The Carrot Cake serves with whip cream. The cake is just a little bit sweet, the texture is moist and chewy, the whip cream is thick, rich and a little sweet which is so perfect.

The cashier, which is the owner of the cafe, is so kind, helpful and tentative. She also is the barista herself. The price is a bit high but it is worth the money with the nice design of the cafe, beautiful scenery, tasty food, desserts and drinks. To get here, you need to drive or you can ride a bike as there is no public transportation around the cafe.

I hope this post will be useful for those of you who are looking for a good place to hang out on a rainy day, near Pathumtani, Thailand. It would be a nice place to hang out on a sunny day as well. Where is your favorite place to hang out on a rainy day? Please share the place, your story or any comment in the section below. I would love to hear it.

Hello, @Ant_Bad_Yogi

Thank you for sharing this awesome place!
I think drinking coffee on an outdoor terrace is great. If there is a roof, It does not change when it rains. And yes, a cold drink like Banana Choco will be especially nice:-)

Hi @Ant_Bad_Yogi

Great pictures and introductions! I wanted to go there. I also checked the menu. I want to eat “Stir fried vermicelli with shrimp pasta and pork”!

Hot coffee on a rainy day and frappe on a hot day sounds good. By the way, is there UBER? Please tell me the best way for tourists to go there.

@YutaE Thank you for the compliments. You checked the menu, that is cool, I think I took those menu photos. Nice choice, Stir Fried Vermicelli with Shrimp Paste and Pork is one of their recommendations.

Yes, I went there on a sunny day, so I had a Frappe. For tourists to visit the cafe, I suggest you to use “Grab” to come from Bangkok or nearby. But going back is a bit tricky, you may ask the taxi (from Grab) to wait for 2 hours or so. If you come visit the cafe, let me know, maybe we can have a mini meet up.
