GOOGLE’S LOCAL GUIDES PROGRAM
Prompt: What does the Local Guide Program mean to you?
Hi!
It is a pleasure for me to communicate with you.
I am Fernanda Bonifacini. I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I am a
nutritionist, I attend an office where I help people to improve
their quality of life, eating better and learning healthy habits. I
am also a teacher so the mission of teaching others, giving them
tools, is something I chose and I like to do. I Have an Instagram
account where I advise people to live and eat better:
@nutri_bonifacini
When Google Maps asked me, on one occasion, my opinion about
a place I had visited and I responded, They sent me the call to be
a Local Guide, which I gladly accepted, since helping others
comes naturally to me.
I like to share my experiences, to be able to contribute so that
others can see themselves benefited. It is satisfying to be useful
to others people, who feel that there is a reference, someone to
ask, someone who gives an answer.
When I issue an opinion, I try to be objective and that the data I
provide are what people ask about a place. I know the interests
and concerns, because I also have them. Before heading to a
place, I find out the opinions and suggestions of others who have
gone, and that helps me decide if I go or not. It is important to bea Local Guide and responsible and generous judgment is
required.
My journey as a Local Guide began in November/December 2017
on a trip I made to Orlando and Miami with my family. We toured
Miami Beach and the Miami Metropolitan area, visited Coral
Castle, Calle Ocho’s tobacco cafes in Little Havana, rode the Big
Bus, and took a boat ride on Biscayne Bay. We drove from Miami
to Orlando by road. We stayed at Celebration Suites in
Kissimmee, from where we toured Theme Parks, Shopping malls
and the city of Orlando.
I love to travel and see places, start new adventures and
journeys, pack my bags and leave. It’s fabulous.
The most interesting thing for me about being a Local Guide is
being able to contribute my experience so that others people can
enjoy more and be happier. I imagine a large network of Local
Guides that stretches around the world and embraces it. A hug
that contains and helps is Google’s Local Guides Program for me.
I would love to be able to attend the Fifth Annual Global Event
Connect Live 2020 to meet other members and exchange
personal experiences with them as Local Guides trying to
collaborate with Google Maps Users.
Cordially,
Fernanda Bonifacini
