Greetings, my fellow Local Guides
Today is just a brief post, sharing my photo from the morning of July 4, 2023. That day, America was celebrating it’s 244th year of independence, but the morning fog looked like the smoke after a major fireworks exhibition!
This photo was taken from the shoreline of Perkins Beach, located at the southern tip of Edgewater Park on Lake Erie.
This beautiful beach is only minutes from downtown and home to a number of unique features, including a wonderful range of beach glass colors, battery cores and an astonishing number of bricks! The bricks come and go with the water level and activity, but are remnants of the former pier. The battery cores are remnants of an old battery factory and look like pencil leads.
The sun eventually chased the fog away and the buildings were fully visible, once again.
I hope you enjoyed this photo and a little bit about it’s location. Have you taken a photo of your city recently, that you’d like to share? I’d love to see them, drop them in the comments!
Tagging those I know take their fair share of excellent photos while out and about, in hopes of seeing your recent faves

@Mikeinthefalls what a rad shot. Is it normal to have fog like this? In Phoenix we just get brown smog, nothing cool like this.

Thanks, yo!

Fog is pretty normal in the spring, but rarely in July and even more rare for it to be that thick. It’s one of our favorite spots to collect beach glass so I have quite a few photos of the skyline from this vantage and none have fog like this one.
@JustJake Brown smog does not sound appealing. Haha
. No shots of a city with painted desert mountains in the distance

Here are few shots on my recent trip to Angel Island, which is little north of San Francisco. A very rare day in San Francisco, with no fog and just clear skies
Shot of town Tiburon, from Ferry. We took a frerry from Tiburon to visit Angel Island.
Here is a shot of part of Angel Island from ferry. You can also see little bit of San Francisco Skyline.
That’s me with some sense of achievement! after reaching the Summit of Mt Livermore on the Island, which is a 4.6 Miles round trip.

Hola @Mikeinthefalls !

Those are all great shots @jayasimha78
Thanks for sharing!
I really like the photo of homes nestled on the hillside and above the bay. I can almost feel the ferry pulling away from the dock.
I think you had excellent timing and framing for the 2nd photo… The sailboat with the curving wake from the motorboat and the skyline at the edge, all make this much more enjoyable than the typical vacation photo
Congrats on your successful hike! You received the satisfaction of completion and the additional reward of that spectacular view.
Great share. Thanks Jay

@LightRich Bro, those photos are KILLER

My fave would be the Chicago skyline from the boat. Just enough editing to make an amazing shot, even better. The marina photo reminds me of sunset over the intracoastal in Florida, warm glow of the sun with a cocktail in hand.
Ok, now you’re just showing off with the sea lions photo
That’s an experience I’m adding to the list right now!
Thanks for sharing. Sorry so long to reply. It’s been a crazy busy summer.
Thanks @Tandrima2 much appreciated.

Thanks @TerryPG
I haven’t seen that much fog over the skyline, so I had to snap a shot.
