As a technology enthusiast and Engineer, I have always been fascinated by technical exhibitions and innovation-driven events. Being a power station operations engineer by profession, I rarely miss opportunities to explore new technologies and connect with people who share similar interests.
When I heard that the Food & Agro Expo 2026 would be held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), along with a meetup of the Bangladesh Local Guides community, I immediately decided to attend. To avoid delays at the entrance, I completed my registration in advance. The expo was held from 7-9 may 2026.
First Session: Exploring the Food Expo
I arrived at the venue on time and collected my visitor pass from Hall 1 by showing my registration copy. After entering the expo, I started exploring the Food Expo area. Numerous stalls showcased a wide range of food products, restaurant equipment, kitchen technologies, and food-processing machinery. It was exciting to observe how technology is being integrated into the food and hospitality industry.
After visiting several stalls, I finally met the members of Bangladesh Local Guides.
Discussion and Experience Sharing
Following a warm exchange of greetings, we engaged in conversations about Google Maps, mapping contributions, and the Local Guides community. One of the most inspiring moments of the meetup was hearing @Trishatishu share her personal journey with Google Maps and Local Guides Connect while living in Japan.
She also talked about receiving an invitation from Japan for the Local Guides Summit in Singapore. Her experiences, dedication, and achievements deeply inspired me and encouraged me to contribute even more actively.
Later, we enjoyed coffee together and captured memorable moments through indoor and outdoor photo sessions.
Second Session: Visiting the Agro Expo
After Maghrib prayers, we moved to Hall 2 to explore the Agro Expo. The exhibition featured various local and international companies presenting agricultural technologies, organic food products, modern farming equipment, and plants.
One of the main attractions was the stall of the renowned drone company DJI. Their agricultural drones, designed for large-scale farming operations, drew significant attention from visitors. It was impressive to see how drone technology is transforming modern agriculture and improving efficiency in the farming sector.
After exploring all the stalls and exhibits, we concluded the day and left the venue with wonderful memories and valuable experiences.
The entire event was both enjoyable and educational. Before returning from the event, I received a Japanese samurai souvenir gift from @Trishatishu I feel very happy and honored for this. From discovering modern food and agricultural technologies to meeting fellow Local Guides and hearing inspiring stories, the day provided me with new knowledge, fresh motivation, and meaningful connections. It was truly a memorable experience that I will cherish for a long time.
