A few photos from my holiday

I thought I’d share a few of my favorite pictures from my holiday in Tuscany the past two weeks.

This is the house we stayed in, fully Covid-19 proof, totally isolated on some mountain above Pescia.

This one was taken from our terrace and offers a view on all our closest neighbours in the valley and the surrounding slopes. No virus in sight ?.

We did get off our mountain twice though, once to go to Pisa, and once to go to Firenze, but both times we made sure to get there very early in the morning, shortly after sunrise, when the streets were still pretty empty, and to leave before people started showing up.

Here is one of the Duomo, Baptisterium and Leaning Tower of Pisa.

And here are a few from Firenze.

And just for fun, one of my daughter apparently practising for the next Hunger Games movie ?.

Interesting holiday @Ion_Taranu thanks for sharing some of the places you visited.

I don’t think anywhere is covid proof because even from an isolated place when you visit someplace else you can touch surfaces and bring it back with you.

You’re absolutely right @PaulPavlinovich , there is never any guarantee. We aimed at minimizing our risks, is all one can do, right? :grinning:

Cool photos @Ion_Taranu . Never been to Pisa or Firenze but I sure wish I did; looks like such a great place to take photos! Is this holiday something that is completely different from your normal holiday i.e. staying in a remote location with day trips out?

@AdrianLunsong I have done many different kinds of holidays in my life. I used to have a villa in Spain where I have spent quite a few holidays over the past decades (geez i’m getting old) and we did lots of day trips from there. I’ve done group holidays, travelling around in Thailand, India and other places. I’ve done road trips, beach holidays, you name it, But staying two weeks in an isolated house on a mountain, with only 2 (not even day but) morning trips out, and other than that just short supermarket runs, is most certainly new to me. I’m not complaining though, this was a very relaxing vacation, just me and my family spending some quality time together.

Great story @Ion_Taranu , Thanks for sharing it in an ordered way.

I like that view from the top of the mountain and those huge and beautiful landmarks you visited only in few days. I never saw a photo of the Leaning Tower of Pisa from this POV. That’s also good you’ve had enough attention to stay safe from COVID-19. Health is the most important thing.

That’s cool @Ion_Taranu ! I love doing city breaks as I love exploring cities and checking out the local cafes for food and drinks! I’ve done a few holidays to more quiet/remote areas and stayed in villas with friends and I honestly have to say that I struggled a bit because I’m not the type to sit by a pool or lie on a beach for hours and hours on a daily basis! Ah, the things I do for friends! :joy:
