A different kind of Apple

For many people around the world, when you say; 'Apple, this is what immediately comes to mind;

Gif of a Green and Red Apple

However, for some Children who were born in Nigeria, this may be the only kind of Apple they will ever know;

Taste

It tastes like strawberry-flavored floss also feels like that when biting into it. In minutes, you could completely eat a bowlful.

Is there a fruit in your country that has a name in English language that does not look like its English language counterpart?

Update:

From what I have gathered so far about this fruit; it has several names like;

  • Jambu
  • Jambu-Air
  • Rose Apple
  • Java Apple
  • Watery Apple
  • Jamrul

It can be found in;

  • Bangladesh
  • Australia
  • Thailand
  • Cambodia
  • Indonesia
  • Nigeria

this guy is actually sophisticated and well traveled, I thought he was a Local guy

From** @indahnuria ,**I learnt that;

It’s called Jambu… Rujak is another delicacy which uses jambu as one of the fruits dipped in spicy, peanut sauce

That fruit is called “ជម្ពូ Chumphou/Jumpu” in Khmer and " Rose apple" in English @Ewaade_3A . It is originated from Southeast Asia.

We can get these in Australia @Ewaade_3A I’ve never tried one. They’re called various names Watery Apple and Rose Apple among other things. We can order them to buy for when they’re in season https://www.thethornyfruit.com.au/products/water-apples-bell-apples-wax-apples-jambu-air

I cannot find anyone backing this person up, but this flickr user suggests there is an Australian native version which is possible https://www.flickr.com/photos/blackdiamondimages/3588200717
