Most people visit Greece because of its magical mediterranean islands (Mykonos, Santorini…) which are in fact amazing, but we prefered to do something different and make a cultural trip through history and mythology.
We spent 3 days on Athens on our 2017 trip (10 days between september and first days of october) and then rented a car to road-trip all the Peloponnese and a few spots upper in the country. This is the route we made:
It was an amazing and surprisingly cheap trip (most historical attractions are free for EU students). I made my first video-trip there, I know its improvable (soon I will show you better videos I made on the US west coast) but it will help you get an idea on what things you’ll see there:
And if you go don’t forget to eat Gyros, a typical and extremely cheap greek meal!!

Hi VasT! I remember how I felt when I got in touch with greek people: this was the first trip I felt almost exactly like home. I guess that’s because our societies are very similar (both born and grown in the Mediterranean). Greek people are kind and always willing to help and that was amazing!
But the greatest thing in this roadtrip, as a greek mythology fan, was the possibility to visit all the places where myths were supposed to happen, with all those temples, columns and thousands of great ruins to approach to ancient times
I encourage you to visit ancient Greece, which is also an affordable trip
I’m really happy to hear about your experience. I agree with you, our cultures look a lot like each other. I felt the same when I visited Barcelona.
