I found out about local guide completely by chance. One day some notifications about local guide appeared on my phone screen from my google account. At first I had absolutely no clue what that was all about. And then I thought that it could be a good idea to take a look at what exactly local guide was. And because I am always open to new things and new experiences, I gave it a try. And it turned out that it was a decision that made me look at the world with a different point of view and changed my inner self forever. Let me explain:
First of all, I love traveling and I do it quite often. I think I’ve got what we call “wanderlust”. This is the strong desire or urge to travel and explore the world. I also take a lot of photos from every place I go. I like sightseeing and walks and going to bars and restaurants and parks and monuments and popular attractions and generally everything that has to do with traveling. And because I was doing all this stuff anyway, I thought to myself, why don’t I share my photos and experiences, so that people can be helped by them? And so it began…
And as the time was passing, I figured out that I loved what I was doing. Going to new places, trying new things, taking photos and afterwards having the opportunity to share it with literally thousands of people. Giving them tips for what to do and what not to. Advising them where to go and where not to. Helping them to take the most out of the place they are. And at the same time, being able to do the same in an opposite scenario, namely me in an unknown place.
It also feels so nice to become a local guide and representing for instance your hometown to the visitors from all over the world thar are visiting it. And especially in my case because my hometown happens to be a global tourist destination and it attracts thousands of people each year. So I am honoured to be able to help my own town with my contributions. It is additionally very important for me to offer a helping hand to the small businesses that are trying to survive and push them to do better and become more successful.
All in all, I think becoming a local guide was one of the best decisions I ever made. I can’t imagine myself without it anymore. It’s linked with my daily routine and particularly with my travels. Gaining information and giving back. This is it.
