Last Sunday I had a day trip to beautiful Dutch city Delft. This is a very old city witnessing many historical events. From Den Haag I took a 20 mins tram ride to reach Delft. Through the beautiful narrow city lane I reached to the main New Church overlooking the main city square. I loved the narrow lane going through the old buildings.
Once I reached the City square there was the New Church in one side while the City Hall is on the other side. This New Church is a very old (in contrary to its’name) Protestant church where all the Royal Family members are buried once deceased. This square is a very good place to hang around and have some food and coffee in the Cafes and restaurants situated in other two sides of the square.

After visiting the square I went to the birth place and museum of the great Dutch golden age painter Vermeer:
From there I went to the Old Church. The church is little bit tilted to one side because of its’construction done just beside a canal.
From there I went to a Catholic church Maria van Jessekerk. The church was really nice. There were beautiful glass work and ornamentation inside.
From there we went to the Museum of Willam of Orange who is the father of Dutch independence from Spanish. He was assassinated inside the buiding.
From there I went to the market square which used be a meat market in the medieval age. Now this is used as open air dining space of nearby restaurants.
Delft is famous for its unique style Porcelain Diewares. You can find lots of shops to collect as suvenir.
On my way back to the tram station there was a beautiful windmill and a remains of the city wall stands symbolizing the history of this small but beautiful city.
That was end of my journey before I took my tram to go back to The Hague. This was really a wonderful tour that I will cherish in my life.
Doei Delft !!
